I appear to be bad at keeping up with this blog.
Unsurprisingly, a baby keeps one quite busy. However, the recent rainy weather here in Atlanta brought to mind a line from one of Robin McKinley’s books, which I then reread (for the millionth time), and, as always ALWAYS happens because I adore her writing*, I have now had to reread not only her Newbery books, but ALL of her books, even My Father Is in the Navy, which always makes me choke up. So when I’m done with that (which is taking longer than usual because of my tendency to fall asleep whenever possible, which is not often, thanks to the aforementioned baby. But she IS pretty cute, which excuses a fair amount of exhaustion. But I do grudge my reading time), I’ll come back here and review those two next. And after THAT I will find a new copy of The Blue Sword, which finally fell apart from too many readings.

*And why wouldn’t I? Her books are not only good reads in general, but couldn’t be more perfect for me if an author had been invented for my own personal tastes and interests: fairy tales and more fairy tales, rose gardening, beekeeping, baking, archery… it’s uncanny. Even my childhood love of pegasi has been gratified.
